DORSET will be without both Chris Jones and Jack Leach for this weekend’s trip to Devon in the Minor Counties Western Division.
Jones scored two centuries (175, 188) in a 123-run victory over Shropshire last time out to break three Minor Counties records while Leach snared eight wickets and was the pick of the bowlers.
Unfortunately though for Dorset, the dynamic duo have both been called up for Somerset Seconds duty, leaving big shoes to fill as Alan Willows’ second-place side continue to try and chase down Cornwall at the top of the table.
In a bid to plug the gap, the Dean Park outfit have also dropped Jonathan Salt this weekend with Jake Lintott, Scott Barlow and Rupes Kitzinger the named replacements.
The three-day game will get underway at Exeter Cricket Club’s County Ground at 11am tomorrow with Dorset currently lying just eight points off the summit.
Dorset: Nick Park, Aaron Williams, Charlie Esson, Jake Lintott, Darren Cowley, Tom Hicks, Chris Park (wk), Ed Denham, Mark Wolstenholme, Scott Barlow, Rupes Kitzinger. 12th man: Ollie Sale. Scorer: Chris Drew.
