TREVOR Senior was hugely impressed with both the quality and quantity as his summer soccer schools got underway at Manor Park.
The number of participants exceeded all expectations and the former Reading striker was also buoyed by the standard of play.
Commenting on the opening week’s activities, the current Bridport boss said: “It has been great so far and I’ve been really pleased.
“Last week was probably the best turnout for a number of years. Normally we have a good turnout but that was excellent.
“I thought that with the Olympics we would struggle and with the weather we had a couple of weeks ago people would go away, but I guess they’re not.
“I’ve been impressed with the standard of play as well. I’ve been doing these schools for 19 years now and it’s all about having fun.”
Senior resumes his coaching duties at Manor Park this week before heading for Damers for weeks three and four (August 6-10 and August 13-17).
Each day starts at 9.30am and finishes at 1pm with every child who takes part receiving a free football.
