LIAM Toohill was left frustrated at Brewery Field after his side’s game against Stalbridge Seconds had to be called off due to a dangerous outfield.
To make matters worse for the Bridport skipper, all the teams at the lower end of Dorset League Division Three secured victories, leaving his men hovering just 11 points above the bottom two.
Toohill, whose side picked up just five points for the postponement, said: “Our outfield was too dangerous.
“The previous weekend we agreed to have weedkiller sprayed on it but unfortunately the wrong tractor was used and it put ruts all over it that were about an inch-and-a-half deep.
“Of course, with all the warm weather we have had just recently they then dried out and became hard.
“The aim now is to work on filling them all in this week to ensure we can get a game on this Saturday when we are home again against Broadstone Thirds.
“They lie just below us and won at the weekend as did Parley Seconds and Ferndown Wayfarers Seconds who are also down there with us.
“We play those three in our next three games and looking at it we need to win them all. “It is a massive period for us but hopefully we will rise to the challenge and start moving back up the table.”
