WEYMOUTH Ladies will be a cut above this season after sealing a shirt sponsor deal with Blondz Hairdressing.

Blondz owner Shaun Hennessy said: “Blondz Hairdressing Group are very pleased to be sponsoring such a successful team. Weymouth Ladies are such a model of professionalism and represent all that is good in sport.

“We have always been supporters of Weymouth FC, and the ladies’ team are an integral part of the new community ethos at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

“Tim Davis has worked tirelessly to produce a team that the whole town can be proud of.

“We look forward to a long ongoing relationship that helps Weymouth Ladies achieve the recognition they deserve.”

Despite Blondz’ support, the Terras are also appealing for other sponsors to come on board.

Running in the South West League Premier Division is an expensive business with areas of expenditure including pitch hire, officials, food, travel, league and cup entry the major outgoings.

The team is totally self financing so relies on fundraising, donations and sponsorship to raise the £7,500 per season required.

The Ladies are offering all their sponsorship packages at a level that can be afforded and there is something for all businesses, whether you have £25 or £2,500 to spend.

Manager Tim Davis said: “We have been fortunate enough to have received superb financial backing over the eight seasons since I started the team and now I am appealing for businesses to come forward and support us this season, which will see us try our very best to have a real go at achieving another promotion.

“The players have been fantastic over the years and are now really focused on this season’s challenge.

“To succeed though the club needs the infrastructure to be right off the field and to do this I need a massive amount of help.

“Shirt, shorts, rain jackets and training kit, equipment and travel sponsorships are all available and for the first time this season we are also introducing match, woman of the match, matchball and mascot packages.

“We also have a football in the community programme that is seeking sponsorship which is an exciting new initiative.”

The ladies are keen to hear from any prospective businesses who might want to sponsor the team or individual players.
