DORSET secured an impressive win over Shropshire on the final day of their Minor Counties clash at Dean Park.
Star man Chris Jones went on to score 188 in the home side's second innings before Chris Park (39) and Ed Denham (46) helped Dorset reach a total of 322.
Shropshire, set a target of 394 from a minimum 74 overs, must have been panicking when the first two wickets fell for just 25 runs.
However, splendid partnerships of 119 between James Ralph (86) and Stephen Leach (38), and then 97 between Jono Whitney (43) and Rob Foster (55) moved them on to 241-5 in the 61st over.
Unfortunately there was very little wag left in the Shropshire tail and they were eventually dismissed for 270 after 78.5 overs, leaving Dorset the winners by 123 runs.
Jack Leach was, again, the main workhorse of the Dorset attack with figures of 4-50.
Dorset now join Wiltshire in second place, behind Cornwall, in the Western Division table with just two fixtures left to play.
