JAMES England fired Cattistock into the Dorchester Evening League Knockout Cup final at the expense of Martinstown.
The Cattistock batsman was the star of the show as his superb knock of 74 helped his side to a commanding total of 140-4 – despite the efforts of Danny Dancer (3-37).
Martinstown fought hard in reply but the 2009 winners could only muster 98, with Billy Walbridge (3-23) the chief destroyer.
The victors will now face last year’s runners-up Dewlish in next Tues-day’s final at the Rec.
Elsewhere, Alex Campbell, Tim Durston and Mark Homewood all produced memorable displays to help bag back-to-back wins for Charlton Down .
In the first Division Two encounter, against Puddletown , Campbell top scored with 33 as his side closed on 102-3.
Victory was far from secure but Durston hit top gear to claim an impressive seven wickets for just five runs, ultimately leaving Puddletown all out for 90.
Campbell surpassed his earlier efforts in the next outing as his 72 saw Charlton Down post 132-6 against Abbotsbury .
The basement boys simply had no answer in reply and Homewood (5-10) weighed in with a fifer to help skittle the strugglers for a paltry 37.
Also in the second tier, Chas Duerdoth plundered 42 runs and James Pretty snared 3-18 as Frampton (126-5) defeated Puddletown (119-7).
A thrilling Division Three clash saw Winfirth Seconds (84-9) tie with Plush (84-5) before the latter enjoyed victory over Puddletown Reserves.
Boosted by an excellent innings from George Chubb (75), Plush’s total of 163-4 proved too much for the reserve side, who could only reach 124-4 in reply.
Winfrith (58-1) then recorded a comfortable win against Colliton Club (57-8) thanks to the efforts of Simon Pattullo (23 not out) and Simon Gold-sack (2-8).
