QUEEN Bees celebrated the past campaign with their annual presentation night at Symondsbury Cricket Club pavilion.
For both teams, competing in the Somerset Under-14 and Under-16 league for the first time proved to be a rewarding new experience and aided both player and team development.
And after an enjoyable season the club handed out the annual awards.
For the younger age group, the prizes went to Charlotte Herbert (Most Improved), Carly Poole (Manager’s Player), Caitlin Corbett (Players’ Player) and Hannah Tarrant (Player of the Year).
Collecting the under-16 gongs were Alex Middleton (Most Improved), Issie Mullin (Manager’s Player) and Hannah Randal (Players’ Player and Player of the Year).
A raffle was also held, consisting a host of memorabilia prizes donated by professional clubs such as Southampton, Leeds United, Exeter City and Yeovil Town, thanks to the hard work of Sophie Northover, 14.
Next season, the under-16s will compete in the Dorset Women’s League and they are currently looking for previous Queen Bees Ladies to sign on to provide necessary experience to help them compete at a higher level.
Training will commence during the second week of August.
If you are interested, contact Patrick Letherby on 01308 424756 after August 1.
The under-14s will compete in the Somerset League in the under-15 age group and are also looking for new players – contact Richard Northover on 01297 560019 for more information.
