DORSET will look to pile on the runs at Dean Park this morning as they attempt to exert their authority over visiting Shropshire.
Resuming yesterday on 49-0, Shropshire were looking set for a good score but they had not catered for the twin spin attack of Tom Hicks and Jack Leach. Within 18.4 overs, the pair had reduced the visitors to 93-4, the last of that group being Ed Foster who had scored 54 of those runs.
However, things didn't go all Dorset's way as Rob Foster (59) was joined by Jono Whitney (110) in amassing 118 for the fifth wicket. Anthony Parker (46) played his part in moving the score on to a very respectable 330-7 from their 90 overs - a lead for Dorset of 71 runs. Hicks (3-99) and Leach (4-106) were the Dorset workhorses, bowling 25 and 30 overs respectively.
The hosts were 176-5 at the close of play with Chris Jones scoring his second century of the match. He will resume today on 104 not out.
