JAMIE Brown is mulling over a permanent return to Dorchester Town.
The burly forward made his first outing in county town colours for almost six years last Friday, playing 88 minutes of the 3-0 defeat to Npower Championship heavyweights Brighton.
The 31-year-old has since been offered terms to rejoin the Magpies but it appears his services are very much in demand.
County town boss Phil Simkin said: “He has received offers from several clubs, which he is thinking over at the moment.
“We have spoken to Jamie on that basis and he has gone away to think about it, so we will wait and see what happens.
“A lot of it comes down to location as he is working in Fleet. It may be a problem, but we have not dismissed it.”
The Magpies are in pre-season action again this evening as they entertain Yeovil Town (7.45pm) in their final home friendly.
And after a positive display against the Seagulls, Simkin is hoping for more of the same tonight.
He added: “I was a bit fearful before Friday’s game but overall I was really pleased with the effort we put in.
“For the first hour I thought we played really well. We lacked a cutting edge of sorts but Brighton played some terrific stuff.
“Having said that, we had some really good passages of play where we kept the ball well.
“I was pleased with the workout and you can’t get a better fitness workout than that.
“These first three games were always going to be tough and I think people forget the calibre of the teams we have played.”
Trialist midfielder Jon Vance, formerly of Taunton Town, is set to feature once more after lasting the full 90 minutes against Gus Poyet’s Albion.
But it is unclear whether summer signing Ben Watson will be fit to face the Glovers.
Simkin said: “I thought Jon Vance did really well on Friday. He did the job we asked of him and his positioning was excellent.
“He will take part in tonight’s game as we would like to have another look at him.
“Ben had tight calves and it wasn’t worth risking him on Friday.
“We can’t afford to take any chances with him in friendlies. He may play against Yeovil but if there is any doubt then he won’t.”
Former Exeter and Tiverton full-back Josh Concanen is no longer training with the club having failed to win a deal at the Avenue.
