BEN Joyce and two unnamed trialists are set to feature for the Terras tomorrow in their opening pre-season friendly.

Weymouth make the short journey across the Causeway to take on neighbours Portland United at Grove Corner (3pm).

And striker Joyce, who made four appearances for the club last term, could line up for the visitors once again alongside a mystery goalkeeper and forward.

Manager Brendon King said: “I’m hoping to have a keeper on board tomorrow and maybe another striker on trial – we’ll just have to wait and see on that.

“Ben will also hopefully be available. He has a lot going on in his private life at the moment so he’s been unable to train with us, but he does want to come back.”

Summer signings Danny Clay and Scott Walker are expected to make their first appearances for the club while Jamie Frampton will also be involved as the Terras weigh up a potential return for the defender who left the Bob Lucas Stadium in May 2010.

However, fellow new recruit Barry McConnell is unavailable.

King added: “Danny and Scott will definitely be involved but Barry is the only one missing. He is away in Ireland and it is something that was booked before we signed him.

“But I’m delighted to say that Jamie will be available to play. He has been doing a lot of training with us and he looks very fit.

“We haven’t done a lot of ball work as we’ve been concentrating on our fitness, which looks good, so I’m sure the boys will be looking forward to getting on the ball tomorrow.

“There are a lot of good people at Portland and they helped us out at Christmas after we had a break-in, so hopefully we will get a lot of people up there tomorrow.”

King’s counterpart, Chris Wilson, is looking forward to tomorrow’s encounter, as is one of his newest additions – former Terras’ favourite Andy Harris.

Wilson, whose side enter the game on the back of a 3-2 win over Bridport, said: “It’s quite a prestigious game for us and we’re very lucky and very grateful to have them come over and give us a game.

“We have a good squad so we’ve got some decisions to make, but it’s good to have that dilemma.

“We have lost a couple of players but we have replaced them with quality. And to have a player like Andy Harris around is fantastic as you can’t help but learn from his experience and enthusiasm.”

Following the match, Portland United’s shirt sponsorship draw will take place in the Blues’ club bar.

Terras’ boss King, a former assistant at Grove Corner, will make the draw.
