WEYMOUTH were forced to postpone Saturday’s clash with Broadstone in the Dorset Premier League due to the ongoing wet weather.
The Seasiders had high hopes the game would go ahead following a dry day last Friday but a deluge of rain on the morning of the match caused the wicket at Redlands to be deemed unplayable Skipper Dean Janaway said: “On Friday and first thing on Saturday morning we thought there might be a chance we could get the game played but a heavy shower around 10am soon put paid to that.
“Our president John Cake and the groundsman went up and had a look at the pitch afterwards and there were puddles all over the square and the outfield.
“That is now two weekends on the spin without a game and it means people will be going out next Satur-day having not batted for three weeks.
“It is far from ideal and it is extremely frustrating but everyone in the area is in the same boat and we just have to get on with it.”
Weymouth Seconds’ trip to Martinstown was also cancelled along with Dorchester’s top-flight clash against Blandford at the Rec.
