MAXINE Moore has been selected to represent Great Britain in the F32 club throw at this summer’s Paralympics in London.
The 19-year-old, who was born in Yeovil but now resides in Weymouth, is currently ranked fifth in the world in the event and holds the UK record for under-20s.
She is also the British women’s champion and has a personal best of 16.52 metres which is a Paralympic qualifying distance.
When asked whether she ever thought she would reach such a level after taking up the sport seven years ago, Moore said: “I never thought about it really but I am now ranked fifth in the world and that means a lot to me. I am very excited about competing at the Paralympics.”
