MILLEN Hurrion secured top spot in the boys’ 16 and under section at the Weymouth Town Tournament.
The youngster finished top of the pile following the completion of the group stage and he will now face fourth-placed Jamie Blair, aged just 10, in the semi-finals.
The other last-four encounter sees second-placed George Morrissey take on Ryan Blair, who came third.
Elsewhere in the competition, Julien Lawes and Carly Dean overcame Bridport’s Caroline and Alan Cash in a thrilling mixed doubles contest.
The latter took the first set 6-3, only to see the former reverse the score and take the second to set up a tiebreak.
And it was Lawes and Dean who held their nerve, running out 7-2 winners.
Meanwhile, Glenda Fraser and Annie Redding have been forced to withdraw from the ladies’ doubles due to various commitments.
