BRIDPORT’S first pre-season friendly has fallen victim to the inclement weather.
Saturday’s heavy downpours flooded the St Mary’s Field surface and despite efforts to move the match, Chard Town’s pitch was also deemed unplayable.
Bees’ boss Trevor Senior, whose side now hope to entertain Lymington this Saturday, said: “There was no chance the game would have been played at our place as our pitch was under about a foot of water over the weekend and the training pitch was the same.
“The river did drop about four feet on Sunday but the pitch was still under water. I did speak to Chard and we did try to reverse the fixture but their place was just as bad.”
