SOPHIE Ramsbottom and Georgina Stickland enjoyed a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Carly Dean and Sarah Thomas in the ladies’ doubles at the rain-hit Weymouth Town Tennis Tournament.
The clash was forced indoors at the Wey Valley Tennis Centre at the weekend following the heavy rain.
Caroline Cash and Rhose Lawes bagged a double in the same section, beating Kate Roberts and Jacqueline Mitchell 6-1, 6-2 and then Dean and Thomas 6-1, 6-1 In the men’s singles, Ed Evans beat Chris Davis 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.
As the weather relented, play reverted back to Greenhill and saw Dean and Julien Lawes defeated Annie Redding and Ryan Bissett 6-3, 6-3 in the mixed doubles.
Clif Moreton saw off Robert Small 6-0, 6-0 in the men’s singles, while Kate Roberts and Jacqueline Mitchell beat Dean and Thomas 6-2, 6-4 in the ladies’ doubles.
