TRAVIS Walden was the big winner at Dorchester & Dist-rict Amateur Boxing Club’s annual trophy presentation, where he picked up the best senior male award.
Kieron Clewett was also recognised as having the best ringcraft skills while Sol Gildey-Evans claimed the coaches’ boxer accolade.
Numerous other awards were also presented on the night as coach Ben Geyser reflected on another fantastic 12 months for the club.
He said: “It has been another cracking year at Dorchester & District ABC.
“The boxers all fully deserved their individual trophies but I think it is fair to say that the whole club should have received something because each and every member gives time to spar, inspire and support those who box for the club. “All I can say is well done to everyone and I looking forward to us doing it all again over the course of the next year.”
Club chairman Steve Scott then went on to add: “It has been a hard season for all the boxers, many of whom have boxed several times. They have all excelled themselves and worked so hard.
“I too would like to congratulate and thank the coaches, boxers and all the volunteers, not just for their continued efforts but for also making this AGM and trophy presentation a special and memorable evening.”
The club also went on to thank the council’s small grants funding committee who have kindly provided two new AIBA approved head guards.
