Portland United FC has ex-pressed its gratitude to outgoing chairman Tony Greaves, who has stepped down after four years at the helm.
The Blues, who are already looking for a new first-team boss and a new reserve-team manager, have released the following statement: “Portland United FC wish to put on record their debt of gratitude and thanks to former chairman Tony Greaves for all the hard work, dedication and time he devoted to the Blues during his four-year chairmanship.
“During his spell at the helm the Blues won the Dorset Premier League and cup double, the Charity Shield and this season the reserves have won the Dorset Senior League.
“Everyone connected with the club wishes Tony all the best for the future.”
Greaves is now set to link-up with his cousin, Weymouth chairman Nigel Biddlecombe, at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
The Terras’ chief said: “Tony is coming on board as a full director and he will be overseeing the reserves and the new under-18s side as well as helping out with the youth set up.”
* Anyone interested in becoming chairperson of the Blues should apply to the Club Secretary, Portland United FC, Grove Corner, Portland DT5 1DP at least two weeks prior to the AGM, which is to be held on Wednesday, July 18.
