IN A repeat of last season’s final, fierce rivals Dorchester and Weymouth go head-to-head in the second round of the Dorset Senior Cup.
The Magpies comfortably came out on top last April, winning 6-2 at the Bob Lucas Stadium, and they begin the defence of their crown at the exact same venue.
Other second round ties of note see Bridport potentially host Toolstation Western Premier Division rivals Sherborne Town – providing the Bees overcome lower-league Shaftesbury at St Mary’s Field this evening – and 2010 winners Gillingham Town visit Hamworthy United.
Portland United and Chickerell United, who both triumphed in their respective first round outings at the weekend, have been handed home draws against fellow Magna Dorset Premier League sides.
The Blues entertain Poole Borough while the Chickens host Hamworthy Recreation.
The clash between the Terras and the Magpies has been pencilled in for November 1, with Portland and Chickerell's games being held on November 5.
Full draw: Hamworthy United v Gillingham Town, Parley Sports v Poole Town, Verwood Town v Wimborne Town, Weymouth v Dorchester Town, Chickerell United v Hamworthy Recreation, Portland United v Poole Borough, Bridport/Shaftesbury v Sherborne Town, Holt United v Swanage Town & Herston.
