Dorset Senior Cup

BRIDPORT v

SHAFTESBURY

BRIDPORT will be out to secure a third straight victory in all competitions tonight when they take on Shaftesbury in the first round of the Dorset Senior Cup at St Mary’s Field (7.45pm).

The Bees have so far experienced a tough return to the Toolstation Western Premier Division this season but it appears their fortunes are beginning to change following a high-scoring victory over Andover New Street in the FA Vase and a much-needed league success over Street last Saturday.

And it seems they should not have any problems this evening as they begin a run of four consecutive home games against a struggling Shaftes-bury outfit lying third-bottom in the Magna Dorset Premier League, 11 points adrift of the Bees’ reserve side.

The Rockies have lost nine of their 10 league games to date but Bridport boss Trevor Senior will still be wary with a home tie against fellow Western Premier side Sherborne Town awaiting the winners in the next round.
