STEVE Reynolds is adamant his side will beat anyone in the Dorset Senior League if they continue to churn out performances like last week’s 6-1 demolition of Blandford United Reserves.

Following a disappointing start to the campaign, which saw them suffer heavy defeats at Wareham Rangers and Stourpaine in their opening three games, Upwey returned to their best against the Royals and their determined boss is adamant they can become a force to be reckoned with.

He said: “It might have been that Blandford were just a poor side but last week there were a lot of encouraging signs in our performance and I am convinced that if we continue to play like that, and our big players step up to the mark, we will be a match for anyone.

“We have so many ball players in the side and as long as we take the game by the scruff of the neck no one at this level will get near us.

“The big test though is continuing to do that week in, week out, starting at Okeford United tomorrow (3pm).”

Upwey are expected to be boosted by the return of Don Wellman and Justin Crawford this weekend with Damien McLucas the only absentee.

Weymouth Sports will look to get back to winning ways against Blandford at Cranford Avenue (3pm).

Steve Alcock’s men suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat at league leaders Kingston Lacy last weekend and currently sit ninth in the table.

* Unbeaten Portland United Reserves will be out to continue their stunning form at Gilling-ham Town Reserves (3pm), while Chickerell United Reserves face a tough home clash against Kingston Lacy at the Stalls (3pm).
