WEYSPORTS’ netball development officer Juliette Frampton is back coaching in Weymouth and Portland-based schools for the new term.
After-school clubs are already running at St John’s Primary School in Weymouth and Royal Manor Arts College on Portland.
The St John’s club is open to Year Five and Six boys and girls, and is held on Thursday afternoons.
After the club ran successfully during the last academic year, St John’s were able to enter a team into the schools league.
The coaching at Royal Manor Arts College is a new after-school club venue for this year.
It is open to girls in Years Seven, Eight and Nine, and is held on Tuesday afternoons.
Frampton also coaches at Weymouth College on Wednesday afternoons as part of their enrichment program.
With the first session held last week, there is scope for a team to be set up which will be able to play competitive netball against other local sixth forms and colleges.
All coaching sessions are specialised and structured to suit the abilities of the players attending.
The main aim of the after-school clubs and curriculum coaching is for more young people to be receiving netball coaching on a weekly basis.
Each session is based on learning different skills and rules of the game, with the emphasis being on having fun and staying active.
The level two coach is looking to teach in more schools in Weymouth, Dorchester and Portland, through curriculum time or after-school clubs.
If you would like your school to receive netball coaching contact Frampton on 07805985740 or email juliettef@weysports.co.uk
