AN alarming bill of health forced Weymouth Reserves to postpone their Magna Dorset Premier League clash at Westland Sports.

Joint-boss Jake Richmond insisted every effort was made to try and get the game played but injuries to seven of his squad gave him no other choice but to call it off.

He said: “Seven of our lads were called up to the first team for the friendly against Plymouth Argyle last Wednesday and we picked up three injuries there, as well as a few more the following night when the under-18s took on Totton.

“In the end we lost Adam Anstey, Simon Crouch, Charlie Holland, Max Ironside, Callum Scott and Matt Harvey, and with Carl Mutch unavailable as well we were clearly stretched to the limit.

“At one stage we did have XI on the Friday and were more than willing to travel with that but then we lost another one, so in the end we had no other choice but to postpone, which was really frustrating, particularly having stopped the rot against Poole Borough the previous weekend.”

The Terras currently sit fourth-bottom in the county’s top-flight and are due to travel to Tintinhull this coming Saturday.
