NORTH DORSET II 21

WEYMOUTH 47

WILL Quick ran in three tries as Weymouth made it three wins from three in Dorset & Wilts One South.

It was North Dorset who made the initial breakthrough though, scoring the opening try almost straight from the kick-off.

The conversion was successfully dispatched to send alarm bells ringing.

The score sparked the visitors into action and they responded in the best possible manner as Quick raced over the line for a converted try.

The hosts came back at Weymouth but only had a penalty to show for their efforts before the impressive Quick crossed once again.

Fly-half Max Baudouin added the extras once more to put the away side four points ahead.

Another home penalty closed the gap to a single point, only for Weymouth to produce a dominant spell of rugby and see Baudouin and hooker Ryan Keable-Kinsella both touch down.

Both tries were converted and although North Dorset added a third penalty, the visitors led 28-16 at the break.

Weymouth’s superiority continued in the second period as Will Quick completed his hat-trick before brother Julian Quick and the ever-threatening centre Joel Wilson also crossed the whitewash.

North Dorset had the final say with a late consolation try but the game belonged to Paul Harding’s men.

The head coach was satisfied with the result but continues to demand higher standards from his players.

He said: “We know there is better still to come from this side with competition for places increasing weekly.

“The second team had a good win as well and with huge numbers training, the pressure is on to keep upping the performances.”
