DEFIANT Ashley Vickers believes he is the right man to take Dorchester Town forward.

The Magpies went down to a third consecutive defeat at the weekend, losing 1-0 at home to Blue Square Bet South leaders Woking, and some sections of the Avenue faithful feel the time has come for a change at the helm.

But the 40-year-old is adamant he and his players will bounce back from recent disappointments.

He said: “Everyone is entitled to their opinion but pressure is just something you have to respond to. You have to rise to it and I always will.

“If the time comes when the people who matter believe things should change then so be it.

“But for what we have and what we pay out on average we get good value for money. The chairman has been on record saying that before.

“My belief in myself, my players and our principles is unwavering. The most successful people in life have failed at times because they put themselves out there.

“I will always put myself out there and do my best for those players and the club.

“People have short memories in football. I’ve kept this club in the league for two seasons and now we want to push on.

“My bouncebackability is unquestionable and I will always bounce back. No matter how many times I hit the deck I will always get back up and I’ll be stronger for it. The players are the same.”
