DEFENDER Kyle Critchell and gloveman Nick Jordan are major doubts for this afternoon’s clash with table-topping Woking (3pm).

The former is suffering from illness while the latter was knocked off his bike yesterday, sustaining heavy bruising.

Boss Ashley Vickers said: “Kyle has got some kind of virus and Nick was knocked off his bike. He hasn’t broken anything but will probably be out today.”

The Magpies delivered an insipid display in Tuesday night’s 3-1 defeat to Weston-super-Mare and with the likes of Ben Dickenson and Ashley Nicholls determined to win back their places, the county town chief will alter his line-up regardless of Critchell and Jordan’s fitness.

Vickers, who faces off against former mentor and current Woking boss Garry Hill, added: “It will be a big test for us today but I’m sure the boys will do fine.

“Tuesday night was poor and there will be changes as a result but there have been positives this season and we have plenty to work with. We will have a real go today and we’re all looking forward to it.

“With the way we have played this season we definitely have a good chance of winning the game.”

The Magpies sit 15 places and 11 points adrift of the current leaders, but have already beaten lofty opposition this season in the form of third-placed Welling.

Should Critchell fail to recover, Portsmouth loanee Lewis Tallack could make his county town debut.
