HIGH-FLYING Weyline will look to make a statement at Redlands tomorrow when they take on defending champions Rendezvous in the Weymouth Sunday League Premiership (all 10.30am).
Adam Parker’s second-placed side have claimed four points from their opening two games and are fully aware that a victory over the Vous would send out a big signal to the rest of the division regarding their title ambitions.
Adam Schofield, Lee Pattison, Lee Thompson, Josh O’Connor and Arron McDonald are all set to return for Weyline with Ben Porteous and Russell North also in contention.
There is also a new mystery signing in the pipeline that could fill the void left by suspended club captain Sean Stewart.
Another huge clash will take place at the Piggery on Portland where Britannia will host current league leaders Duke of Albany.
The islanders are expected to be without several key players including Terry Oldrid, Adam Dell and Grant Chance. Wayne Bowring is also a doubt but Simon True could make his debut.
Quayside, who lost 4-1 against Weyline last weekend, will look to bounce back against Alexandra at the Stalls.
Bobby Darch is expected to have a strong squad available for the clash with Marc Dalley, Bryn Lewis and Paul Cole all returning. New-signings Martin Elliot and Sam Peterson are also in contention.
In the Championship, Moby Dick’s will be at full strength for their meeting with in-form Wellworthy at Redlands with Anthony Crane in line to make his first appearance of the season.
Galaxy Lions will also take on Rock at Redlands bidding for their first win of the campaign. The Portlanders could hand debuts to Craig Coles and James Davies.
