CALLUM Forder has been crowned the new Weymouth Tennis League champion following a fine win in the League One final at Greenhill.
In blustery conditions, the 15 year-old beat first-time finalist Guy Simmons 6-1, 6-3 under a huge black cloud that had threatened play for a long time.
Having finished runner-up in League Two last year, this success proves the tremendous progress Forder has made over the last 12 months with his consistent groundstrokes and ball placement proving too much for many of his rivals to handle.
Stephen Blake took the League Two title with a 6-2, 6-3 success over Roger Locke – a winning scoreline that was repeated by Billy Blackmore in the League Three final against Dave Morgan.
League organiser Paul Clark presented the trophies to bring the curtain down on another successful season.
