WEYMOUTH Ladies Volleyball Club are to re-form for a one-off special tournament.
Some of the best players in the country will be representing the town and will include Weymouth Beach Classic winner Gabi Medricka.
She will be joined by other top-flight players such as former Wessex players Veronica Orfan-idou, who is currently playing international beach volleyball on the European circuit, Katje Gless and Henri Creasy.
The event will be played at the Ashcombe Volleyball Centre in Dorking early in the new year and will feature teams from all over Europe, including Malta, London Polonia and Polish National League team Wiezyca 2011 Stezyca.
The tournament will be a two-day event with 12 teams competing in two qualifying groups of six, before knockout quarter-finals through to a final.
Weymouth, with the squad available should be in contention to capture this prestigious competition.
It is also hoped that a few of the original players that played National League volleyball for Weymouth, formed in the early 2000s will also join the squad, along with some of the country’s top-rated under-18 juniors.
