ASHLEY Vickers admits his side got exactly what they deserved out of last night’s game – absolutely nothing.
Dorchester slumped to a 3-1 defeat at home to Weston-super-Mare with Ryan Moss netting the Magpies’ consolation.
And after witnessing such a “lacklustre” display, the county town chief is calling on his players to reflect on their own performances.
He said: “I don’t think we deserved anything out of the game – it was lacklustre.
“The lads need a bit of personal reflection. They need to reflect on their performance and I know they will.
“I’ll always back them to the hilt and I will take responsibility for the defeat but they need to reflect as well, as they haven’t done themselves justice and they haven’t put into practice what we asked them to do – defensively or offensively.
“We work tirelessly to get the best out of the boys and I’m sure we will. It’s hard to say after a defeat like that but I have to be as positive as possible.”
To compound the Magpies’ misery, winger Nick Crittenden joins Mark Jermyn and Nathan Peprah-Annan in the treatment room after limping out of last night’s game with a hamstring injury.
Vickers, whose side host Woking on Saturday (3pm), added: “His hamstring went so he’ll be out for a few weeks.”
