BYRON Napper returns to action in this evening’s friendly against Plymouth Argyle at the Bob Lucas Stadium (7.45pm).
The Crawley Town loanee missed the Terras’ two FA Cup games against Taunton Town due to an administrative error but has already been cleared for the second qualifying round tie against Hungerford Town on October 1.
Weymouth boss Brendon King said: “Having missed the last two games, Byron will be one of several first-team players that will play tonight against what I am led to believe will be a strong Plymouth side.
“Carl Fletcher has been put in temporary charge and naturally he wants to take a look at exactly what is there and is planning to bring a squad of 21, including most of the first-team squad.
“We have got a big game on Saturday against Barwell so we will have to be a little bit sensible but it promises to be a good match.
“I am also hoping to have a couple of trialists there and it will give me an opportunity to take a look at a few of the reserve team lads as well.”
Tim Stephenson’s loan deal has ended but King is hopeful the AFC Bournemouth defender will return. He added: “Tim has a slight knee injury at the moment so we are just waiting until that heals before we look at the possibility of bringing him in for another month.”
* Admission to tonight’s game is £5 for adults, concessions and students, £3 for the unemployed and £1 for children.
