TAUNTON TOWN 0
WEYMOUTH narrowly escaped an embarrassing early exit from the FA Cup at the Bob Lucas Stadium this afternoon.
Facing a Taunton Town team lying 13th in the league below, the Terras had to rely on last-ditch interventions from Sam Poole and Ryan McKechnie, and a string of fine blocks from keeper Tom Manley to keep them in the hat, much to the frustration of a disappointed home crowd.
Ben Gerring had a header tipped on to the bar and Warren Byerley went close with the rebound but apart from that the hosts created very little.
They now face a daunting trip to Wordsworth Drive for the replay on Monday night.
