NICK Jordan has broken his silence over his controversial loan move from Weymouth to Dorchester Town.

The ex-Crawley Town keeper has refuted suggestions that he manufactured the switch and has also insisted his decision to join the Magpies is purely down to “footballing reasons”.

He has also backed Tom Manley to fill the void he has left at the Terras, describing his fellow gloveman as a “top, top man”.

However, the Weymouth hierarchy see things very differently, claiming Jordan engineered the move before eventually notifying them of his desire to leave at a training session on September 6.

The Terras’ board has also assured fans the club will receive a transfer fee for the wantaway keeper should a permanent deal be agreed with the Magpies.

Dorchester are currently attempting to offload a couple of players to make room for the 21 year-old, who is now rivalling Alan Walker-Harris for the number one jersey.

Both teams will be in action today with Weymouth hosting Taunton Town in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup and Dorchester taking on Basingstoke Town at the Camrose in Blue Square Bet South (3pm).

The Terras stand to bag £3,000 if they progress.
