CRAIG Duff has become the latest new addition to the Terras’ squad and will be available for tomorrow’s FA Cup first qualifying round clash at home to Taunton Town (3pm).

The midfielder has joined the Evo-Stik Southern Premier outfit on non-contract terms following spells at Bovey Tracey and Falmouth Town.

In his one and only outing for Bovey this season on September 6, Duff netted in a 2-2 draw against Falmouth, who he had only left just seven days earlier.

Since then he has been sidelined with a slight knee injury but Terras’ boss Brendon King is confident he is now fit and raring to go.

He said: “Craig is someone who I got a bit of a tip-off about. He has trained with us a couple of times and now he has got over the little knock he had, he is ready for action.

“He is still in his early 20s and cannot wait for the challenge so I am looking forward to seeing him in action.”

Kyle Bassett has become the latest player to be released by the Terras, following in the recent footsteps of Tom Lang, Rob Wolleaston, Lewis Tasker and Mark Peters.

And with Nick Jordan going out on a month’s loan to Dorchester Town, there is room in the budget for more new faces.

King added: “There is still a little bit of room for us to manoeuvre but as always it is a question of getting the right players at the right price.

“I am not going to just bring in people willy-nilly and as a club we are not going to pay silly money.

“We have a home friendly against Plymouth Argyle next Wednesday night and I am hoping to take a look at a few trialists then.

“I know we need a couple more bodies and a little bit more quality but they have to be the right type of players with the right commitment.”

Stephen Reed faces a late fitness test ahead of the visit of Taunton while youngster Chris Povall comes into the squad to replace the void left by Jordan. Tim Stephenson is expected to miss out with a slight knee injury.

King, whose side beat Taunton 2-1 at Wordsworth Drive at the same stage of the competition last season, said: “I am fully aware of what the FA Cup means financially and what it means to the fans but from my point of view tomorrow will all be about trying to kick on from Tuesday night’s win at Cirencester Town.

“Winning breeds confidence, so I will be looking for another big performance.

“Taunton are in the league below, so they will be seen as the underdogs, but as long as we approach it with the right attitude our extra quality should come through.”

The Peacocks currently sit 13th in Evo-Stik Division One South & West and enter the tie off the back of a 2-1 home defeat against Poole Town.

The winners of the encounter will pocket £3,000.
