SWIFTLY following Nick Jordan through the Avenue Stadium entrance is Portsmouth teenager Lewis Tallack.
The 18-year-old full-back has joined the Magpies on a month’s loan – just 24 hours after Jordan made a similar switch from rivals Weymouth – and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Basingstoke (3pm).
Boss Ashley Vickers said: “Our chairman Shaun Hearn has good contacts at Portsmouth and Lewis is meant to have a bright future.”
However, it is unclear whether goalkeeper Jordan will win the battle with Alan Walker-Harris for the number one jersey.
Vickers added: “I’ll have a good think about it as I haven’t made any decision yet. Nick is a talented keeper and I’m excited that he’s joining the club but Alan has done well since coming in.”
After recording back-to-back wins in Blue Square Bet South for the first time in almost 11 months, Dorchester will be aiming to make it three on the spin when they take on ’Stoke.
Tomorrow’s hosts are unbeaten in three games but only lie three places above the Magpies due to a superior goal difference.
Vickers, whose side lost both of last season’s encounters 1-0, added: “They are just above us and they have got a hell of a lot of money.
“It’ll be tough but if our work-rate is anything like it was on both Saturday and Tuesday night then they will know they have been in a game.
“We go there in buoyant mood and we are all looking forward to it. We’ll make sure we prepare as always as it’ll be another big test for us, but it’s one we’re looking forward to.
“We had some close games against them last season but lost both, so we feel we owe them one and hopefully things will go our way this time.”
Steve Devlin, who played 90 minutes for the reserves on Wednesday night, returns from a three-match ban but Ben Dickenson remains on holiday.
Nathan Peprah-Annan and Mark Jermyn meanwhile, are still suffering from knee complaints.
Vickers was last night hoping to discover the extent of his captain’s injury.
