BEAMINSTER will have to “muddle through” without the experienced heads of Nick David and Simon Jones tomorrow against Cranborne at the Memorial Ground (2pm).
The basement boys are still searching for their first win in Dorset League Division Two but despite his side’s ongoing selection woes, skipper Ross Baker is confident the tide will turn soon.
He told Echosport: “Cranborne are third in the table and are going well so it is going to be another tough game for us, particularly with several players missing again due to a wedding.
“Nick and Simon, who have been ever present so far this season, will be a big loss as they are two very experienced players.
“Colin Lloyd, who did well last weekend, is also unavailable so all we can do is try and muddle through really and try and perform the best we can.”
Baker went on to add: “Once we get our full team back available I think we will be very competitive and hopefully after this week that will start beginning to happen.
“At the moment, this season is panning out very much the same as last year when we struggled for a while to get that first win before putting a good run of results together in the second half of the campaign.
“Hopefully, that will happen again this summer.”
Beaminster: Runyard, Penman, Hawkins, Everitt, Herring, Baker, Garland, Barber, Rathbone, Price, Legg.
