DOUBLE winners Greyhound Wanderers were honoured at the Dorchester and District League’s presentation night.
The men’s Section A champions also picked up the Knockout Cup at the Trinity Club awards evening.
Section B was won by Barmy Army, Steamers took Section C and Section D was won by Greyhound Essentials, while The Imps were the Plate winners.
In the ladies, Section A was won by Oakettes.
Oakey Dockeys triumphed in Section B, while Breezers claimed the Knockout Cup and Devils won the Plate.
The newly inaugurated ladies’ pairs competition was claimed by Becky Mitchem and Wendy Burt of Devils after a very competitive evening of skittles at the Trinity Club.
The singles was won by Jason Hallett, who plays for Colliton Wide Boys.
The final 20 pairs played off to a winner at the Victoria Hotel with Ashley James and Tony Hewitt of Brewers Bees eventually being successful.
The Secretaries Shield for the men was won by Graham Cockett and Sally Childs won the Ladies’ Shield and on the same evening the Sticker-up Cup was taken by Josh Cummins.
The Wooden Spoon was presented to Frampton Rollers and the new Oxo Trophy was won by Colliton Scorpions with a grand total of 15 oxos during the season.
Chay Fox was the men’s league top scorer with 86 and Angela Hopkins and Donna Eady tied the ladies’ highest total with 71.
Secretary Brian Newton said: “About 250 members attended the evening and after the presentation of the trophies there was dancing to Strong Constitution and a disco.
“There was a very successful draw, which raised money towards league funds with many teams attending the evening in fancy dress.
“Frank Brown, an ex-committee member, presented the trophies to the successful teams.
“The season was very well supported with a minimum of cancelled games with many exciting matches in the league and knockout cups.”
