WEST Region PGA captain Michael Watson put his putting blues behind him to win his second pro-am in five days at Cotswold Hills.
After shooting a six-under-par 66 to claim a two-shot win over in-form Russ Berry (Cleeve Hill), former Tour player Andy Beal (Salisbury) and Ross Langdon (Henbury), the Wessex Golf Centre pro said: “Tee to green I have been faultless this year.
“However, I simply haven’t been able to get the ball into the hole.”
He won the previous event, the Dudsbury Ladies pro-am in Bournemouth last week.
Three birdies in a row from the fifth took him out in four-under 32 and he picked up two more on the 13th and 16th.
He then mitigated his only blemish, a bogey on the 17th, with a seventh birdie on the final hole to take home the £673 prize fund.
Berry, who was runner-up in the Bournemouth Fourball Festival in the previous event, was out in 34 but he matched Watson with a birdie on 12 followed by an eagle on 13. But he dropped his only two shots on the final two holes to slip out of contention.
Beal made his mistakes on the front nine, with bogeys at the second and seventh. But he roared back with three birdies on the last five holes.
