ROB Wolleaston has tipped wing-wizard Jamie Beasley to fly for the Terras next season.
The ex-Chelsea midfielder is delighted the 23-year-old put pen to paper on a new one-year deal on Wednesday night and is looking forward to what he feels will be a positive 2011/12 campaign.
Wolleaston, who has one year left on his current contract, told Echosport: “I think we will do really well.
“Last season we began with a 10-point deduction, which took time to come to terms with, but this year we will start the season on an even keel and with the players that are looking to stay at the club, I think we could have a very good campaign.”
Tom Manley, Matt Groves and Warren Byerley are also keen to sign new deals. Wolleaston added: “The fact Jamie signed on Wednesday night was fantastic news for the club and I have no doubts that if he can push on now and have a good pre-season, he will be flying come August.
“As for me, I am going to be working extremely hard over the break to ensure I am fully prepared for when we return to training.
“I did not have a pre-season last year due to injury so hopefully if I can get a good one in this year, I won’t suffer with the same niggles I had last season.”
The Terras are still searching for a new manager following Martyn Rog-ers’ departure a fortnight ago.
Tommy Widdrington, Bre-ndon King and Mike Fowler have all been interviewed for the role with a final decision by the board scheduled to be made at the beginning of next week.
When asked whether he had thought about applying for the post, Wolleaston said: “To be honest I don’t think I am ready to be a manager yet and I have to say I felt a bit gutted when I heard Martyn had left.
“I understand several people have gone for the role and interviews are currently taking place, so hopefully it will be sorted soon.
“It is important the club gets someone in over the next week or so because they need to be given time to start bringing players in before pre-season.”
