WEYMOUTH will be out to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season when they travel to Suttoners in the Dorset Premier League tomorrow (1.30pm).

Confidence is high in the camp at present following last weekend’s final-ball success over Wimborne & Colehill and club stalwart Dave Trotter is tipping Paul Payne’s men to continue the momentum.

He told Echosport: “At long last, there is now far greater competition for places at the club compared to previous weeks and Payner is determined to continue the winning ways.

“Several players in the side are in fine form and the team will also be boosted by the return of Andy Jarvis, who will line-up in the middle-order alongside another experienced head in Sean Fitzgerald.”

Jarvis replaces the unavailable Ben Lawes while Tom England is due to feature in successive games for the first time this summer.

England is in tremendous form with the willow at present. Not only was he the hero against Wimborne but he also carried his bat in the victory over Ferndown Wayfarers earlier in the campaign.

It also appears the bowling attack of Matt Lawes, Rob Nobbs, Laurie ‘Cube’ Whyte, Simon Browne and Faraz Ulhaq is beginning to fire on all cylinders and there is no doubt they will have to be on top of their game against a Suttoners side that tend to find runs easy to come by.

Weymouth: Payne, Janaway, England, Ryall, Jarvis, Fitzgerald, M Lawes, Ulhaq, Browne, Whyte, Nobbs.

* Weymouth Seconds remain winless in Division One after suffering a 33-run loss at Broadstone Seconds last weekend.

They will host high-flying Branksome at Redlands tomorrow (1.30pm) where they will welcome back Simon Mitchem. Trotter said: “Last week I took a large contingent of the youth set-up to the Delph and they did well.

“I was particularly impressed with Toby Mason and Matt Batch who put on a fanastic partnership of 109. James Almond also bowled really well and provided great support.

“The fact Simon is back this week should add something else to the team both in terms of batting and bowling, so hopefully we can put on a good performance.”

Weymouth Seconds: Trotter, J Trevett, B Trevett, Almond, Puckett, Mason, Batch, Tucker, Guest, Mitchem, C Armfield.

* Weymouth Thirds are also searching for their first victory in Division Five.

Last week a heavily depleted Seasiders outfit were skittled for just 68 in a seven-wicket defeat at Kingston Lacy so they will no doubt be out to bounce back at home tomorrow against Wimb-orne & Colehill Thirds (2pm).

Weymouth Thirds: Mitchell, Carrington, Sterling, A West, Perrett, Womble, Sers, Hutchens, Ryan, Monk, Guyett.
