Greenhill returned from Lyme Regis with an impressive 8-2 points win.
Leading the way for the victors were Brian Burroughs, Marcus Smith, Dave Smith and Dave Ralph who gained a 23-13 win over B Gillett, E Skeemer, P Eagles and P Moffitt.
Supporting well for Greenhill was the rink of John Crabb, Chris Cook, Pete Read and Barry Patterson, prevailing 20-13 against R Richardson, T Allman, D Meylan and C Barber.
The home side’s two points came via J Eaton, S Pomeroy, B Batten-bury and P Pomeroy, who triumphed 17-11 against Harry Hovendon, Ed Smith, Mike Durant and Ron McCarthy.
However, the damage had been done and Greenhill claimed an overall win of 54-43.
County Pairs
GREENHILL enjoyed a quartet of victories in the second round of the County Pairs.
John Skinner and Pete Brown produced a barnstorming display as they beat Melcombe Regis duo Steve Baker and Colin Smith, 24-8.
Better was to come as Chris Cook and John Avant overwhelmed Howard King and Andy Crawford, also of Melcombe Regis, 32-7, while John Crabb and Barry Patterson overcame Greenhill colleagues Colin Poulter and StJ Corben 30-4.
Last but not least, Kevin Hodder and Mike Chislett fought off the attentions of Bridport’s Brian Iverson and Bill Payne, running out 29-18 winners.
County League Division One
PORTLAND Victoria suffered a 10-0 whitewash at the hands of Greenhill.
Brian Martindill, Tony Bennett, Danny Brookes and StJ Corben set the ball rolling with a 28-5 defeat of T Sandland, T Bowen, C Asworth and K Osmond.
Despite being 11-5 down to S Williams, K Bryan, F George and P Birch, John Hodder, Alex Bignell, Pete Brown and Mike Chislett recovered brilliantly to win 33-15.
Phil Goater, Pete Child, Mervin Aubrey and John Avant also found themselves trailing, 11-6 to H Ashworth, B Lynch, D Darby and S Masters, but rallied to earn a 21-18 verdict.
That gave Greenhill a well-earned shots aggregate of 82-38.
Percy Baker Triples
THE fine form continued in the Percy Baker Triples as Greenhill came away from Sherborne with a 6-0 triumph.
John Hodder, Danny Brookes and skip Pete Brown were on song in a superb 29-9 win over A Gardner, R Jeans and H Paull while Tony Colton, Colin Poulter and StJ Corben supported well with a 20-13 verdict against H Bateman, M Burridge and D Mead.
South Dorset Division One
GREENHILL A overcame their C team counterparts, winning by just four shots.
Harry Hovendon, Pete Brown, Mike Durant and Ron McCarthy put the A team ahead with a 26-16 win over Nick Candy, D Caddy, C Chard and Danny Brookes.
And the advantage was stretched when Tony Colton, Brian Burroughs, Pete Read and Kevin Walbridge got the better of J Kelly, M Grove, K Pitchford and A Churches, 24-16.
Greenhill C refused to lie down and gained two points courtesy of Richard Custard, Tony Bennett, Pete Child and skip John Crawford.
The foursome recorded a 24-10 success against StJ Corben, John Hodder, Brian Martindill and Mike Chislett to close the gap.
However, it was too little, too late as the A team extended their unbeaten run.
