WEYMOUTH hope to have a new manager in place in “the next few days”.
Martyn Rogers departed last Friday by mutual consent and his assistant Brendon King, formerly in charge of the Terras’ reserve side, is believed to be the frontrunner for the vacant post.
However, the likes of ex-Tiverton Town boss Chris Vinnicombe, former Woking chief Kim Grant, ex-Dorchester Town caretaker-manager Brian O’Donnell and last season’s skipper Mike Fowler have all entered the race.
Asked for an update on the search for a new boss, associate director Mark Coleman said: “There’s not a lot to say other than we’ve been talking to people and we should have an announcement in the next few days.”
Meanwhile, the club have arranged a pre-season friendly at Zamaretto Division One South & West outfit Wimborne Town.
The Cuthbury clash is due to take place on August 6.
* Supporters have until 5pm on Tuesday to purchase the Early Bird Season Ticket.
