MARK Wolstenholme will make his debut for Dorset tomorrow when they take on the Gloucester-shire Gladiators in a Twenty20 match at Sherborne School (5pm).

The experienced all-rounder has joined the Dean Park outfit from Northampton Saints and is expected to add power and ruthless aggression at the top of the bowling attack.

Dorset boss Sean Walbridge said: “Mark is 31 and comes highly recommended by our vice-captain Chris Park.

“We felt we needed a strike bowler and at six-feet-five-inches tall he fits the bill perfectly. He also bats as well, which is a massive bonus, and we feel he will prove a tremendous signing.”

Dorchester’s Dan Belt has also been named in the 12-man squad to face the Gladiators as Dorset look to find some much-needed form following back-to-back defeats in the MCCA Knockout Trophy.

Sri Lankan spin king Muttiah Muralitharan, who is the highest wicket-taker in Test Cricket and One-Day International history, could line up for Gloucestershire along with the likes of John Lewis, Alex Gidman and former Dorset player David Payne.

Walbridge’s men will also face the Hampshire Royals in Twenty20 action at Dean Park on Monday (2.30pm), where Dominic Cork, Dimi Mascarenhas, Shahid Afridi, Jimmy Adams and Imran Tahir are all expected to feaure for the visitors.

Ticket prices for each of the two games are as follows: £50 for a school or club ticket (two adults and 10 children), £20 for a family ticket (two adults and two children), £10 for adults, £5 for children, students and OAPs. Dorset CCC members can gain free entry on production of their membership card.

Tickets can be obtained from the Dorset Cricket Board office on 01202 881349 or Dorset CCC secretary Barry Lewis on 01258 472282.

Gladiators tickets are also available at Sherborne TIC. Refresh-ments, a beer tent, ice creams and hot and cold food will all be available at Sherborne School.
