JOE Djeebet of local company WindowMan is heading up a new commercial team at Weymouth FC in a bid to attract new sponsors to the Bob Lucas Stadium.
The long-time fan and club sponsor has voluntarily agreed to take on the role and is currently looking to recruit driven people to assist him on a commission-only basis.
Djeebet said: “I have agreed to come on to the commercial side and help promote the club.
“I have had a long-standing connection with the club both as a supporter and a sponsor, and it is a privilege to be getting involved in trying to help it move forward, following the great achievement from the team to stay up this season.
“The commercial team I am heading up will be looking into new ideas to promote the club both locally and nationally while also incorporating the great work that is already being carried out by Fred Dunford.
“In a bid to get commercial activity moving, I am currently looking to recruit a team of people to help pull sponsors in on a commission-only basis.
“I am not doing this for any financial gain at all and purely for the benefit of Weymouth FC and the type of people I am looking for have to be driven and enthusiastic with an appetite to help the club.
“A background of working in sales would be great but not a necessity and obviously good contacts would also be a bonus.
“So whether someone is retired, working full-time or part-time, or is just a fan with a desire to earn a bit of extra money while helping out the club please contact me as soon as possible by sending an email to thewindowman200@aol.com."
Djeebet went on to add: “This week it has been great to see Weyline continuing to sponsor the club and hopefully more companies will follow.
“It would be terrible for the town if it lost its football club and it is vital that the community work together to make sure that doesn’t happen.
“A line needs to be drawn under everything that has happened over the past few seasons because it has been a rollercoaster for far too long now. And the fact the team managed to stay up this year should be an inspiration to everyone to start to come together for the benefit of the club.”
