ADRIAN Scadding is “over the moon” after Bridport received the green light to return to the Toolstation Western Premier Division next season.
The Bees’ chairman, who has been at the helm for six years, received confirmation early yesterday morning via email and was quick to praise the hard work of boss Trevor Senior and his players for such a tremendous campaign.
Bridport finished third in Division One, four points adrift of runners-up Oldland Abbotonians, who have been denied promotion after their Castle Road ground failed to meet the required standards.
The decision to promote the St Mary’s Field outfit instead was taken late on Thursday night at a league committee meeting and Scadding believes it was the correct outcome.
He said: “In truth, the decision had to go our way but sometimes you never know with these things and when I received the email confirming promotion it was almost like having a baby.
“I am absolutely over the moon and it is a credit to everyone at the club, particularly Trevor and the players."
