FORMER world champions Dennis Taylor and John Parrott will go head-to-head in a challenge match at Snookes in Weymouth on September 24.
The popular duo, who now work for BBC Sport, will also take on local players at the event with top-class referee Michaela Tabb returning to the town to ensure fair play throughout the evening.
Snookes manager Mark Cottingham said: “On the back of how well the Steve Davis night went down in January to now have Dennis and John coming here in September is just fantastic.
“Steve and Michaela spoke to both Dennis and John, and told them what a good time they had experienced here and things just got sorted out from there really.
“I then recently went up to Sheffield to meet Dennis who told me just how much he is looking forward to it.
“Dennis and John will take on each other in a best of seven frames challenge match and after that a few lucky locals will get the chance to take them on themselves.
“More details will be released soon and anyone wishing to find out more can contact the club on 788593.”
Taylor will always be remembered for his historic World Championship triumph in 1985 when he beat Davis on the final black of the match in the early hours of the morning in front of a live television audience of over 18 million.
The Irishman also won the Grand Prix in 1984 and the Masters in 1987, as well as 12 other non-ranking tournaments, which helped him reach number two in the world.
Meanwhile, Parrott beat Jimmy White 18-11 to capture his one and only World Championship in 1991.
The Liverpudlian, who spent three successive seasons at number two, also won 15 other tournaments and compiled 221 century breaks, including a 147 in the Matchroom League in 1992.
Tickets for the event at Snookes are scheduled to go on sale on May 24.
