WEYMOUTH 2
Halloran 53, 85
BANBURY UNITED 4
Coleman pen 4, 35, Staff 14, Martin 51
WEYMOUTH’S impressive home record went down the drain as the 10-man Terras were sunk at a sodden Bob Lucas Stadium.
Going into this afternoon's game, the Terras were looking to extend their unbeaten home run to eight, but those hopes were washed away inside the opening four minutes as Ollie Tribe imitated keeper Tom Manley by using his arm to divert a Marvin Martin shot onto the woodwork.
The defender saw red, Joe Coleman converted from 12 yards and the writing was on the wall.
Banbury raced into a four-goal lead – when really it could and should have been more – but to their credit, the hosts fought back and brought some respectability to the scoreline courtesy of an Alex Halloran double – his first goals of the season.
The second of which was an excellent chip over visiting stopper Joe Murrell.
Despite the defeat, the Terras remain eight points adrift of safety in the Zamaretto Premier Division.
* Meanwhile, chairman George Rolls has told Echosport he is looking at extending the current contract of boss Ian Hutchinson.
