MASSES of games have been called off this weekend due to the adverse weather conditions.

Dorchester Town’s clash at St Albans City in Blue Square Bet South has been postponed but there are high hopes that Weymouth’s home encounter against Banbury United in the Zamaretto Premier Division (3pm) will survive.

Terras’ boss Ian Hutchinson told Echosport yesterday: “There is still a blanket of snow over the pitch but we are keeping it like that to keep the ground moist.

“With a bit of rain being forecast to come in and a rise in temperature, hopefully it will go ahead. No pitch inspection is planned at the moment and the safety aspect around the ground will be fine.”

Meanwhile, Bridport’s trip to Bradford Town in Toolstation Western League Division One has failed to beat the freeze, along with the entire schedule in the Magna Dorset Premier League, and all of the weekend’s games at the Marsh and at Redlands.

Dorset Under-18s have also had their clash with Cornwall at Grove Corner postponed, while Yeovil Town called off their Npower League One encounter with Peterborough United at Huish Park on Thursday Two other games that could still go ahead are AFC Bournemouth’s visit to Bristol Rovers, and Weymouth Sports’ Dorset Senior League encounter against Gillingham Town Reserves at Weymouth College.
