THERE was an emphatic victory for Moonfleet A against Banister Park in the one rink home, one rink away Leonard Denny Trophy.
The home quartet of Keith Wyman, Kevin Walbridge, Mike Gale and Martin Puckett led the way, going 18-8 up by 10 ends thanks in part to a superb eight on the sixth.
Moonfleet edged further ahead at 22-11 before recording a 24-13 win over M Slade, N Odonvian, J Bright and M Hammond.
The travelling foursome of Geof Whitehead, Pete Read, Ron McCarthy and Barry Patterson also turned on the style at Banister Park against K Prior, N Dorman, G Standley and P May.
Moonfleet went into an early lead before winning 20-9, giving an overall victory of 44-22.
Over-60s Double Rink MOONFLEET A recorded another impressive victory in the Over-60s competition.
The foursome of Keith Wyman, Pete Read, Mike Durant and Alf Sawkins played Wellworthy’s Ron Skinner, Brian Durant, Tony Sargent and Graham Reed, but were 12-7 down at 11 ends.
However, a superb six on the next end led the recovery as Moonfleet eventually triumphed 24-18.
Next up, Mike Goddard, John Crabb, Ron McCarthy and Barry Patterson took on J Always, K Randal, B Adams and T Vincent.
Moonfleet went 6-1 down, levelled at 10 apiece, and then battled their way to victory.
A 17-16 scoreline paved the way for a 41-34 overall win.
PURBECK TRIPLES CHALLENGE TROPHY MOONFLEET B gained a fine win over visiting Wellworthy, collecting a 6-0 points victory and 46-25 shots advantage.
Leading the excellent team performance were Tony Colton, Mike Pearson and Jack Hughes, who raced into a 16-4 lead at 10 ends against Alan Goodwin, Joe Kelly and Brian Mills.
Their dominance continued for a 25-10 victory.
Supporting well was the home companion rink of Ray Walbridge, Colin Poulter and StJ Corben. Despite trailing 13-7, the trio fought back superbly to run out 21-15 winners.
The overall success keeps Moonfleet on track for the play-offs.
