MAURICE Welch has made his first signing since returning to the Chickerell hot seat – bringing Andy Graham back to the club.
The defender has been without a club for the past year but Chickens’ boss Welch has persuaded him to don the red and white stripes once more.
And Graham goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s Magna Dorset Premier League Cup encounter at Westland Sports (1.30pm).
Welch said: “Andy was with me when I was last in charge. He has recently taken time out from the game but has agreed to come back, which is a big plus.
“He hasn’t played for a year and ideally I would’ve liked to have given him a few games in the reserves.
“But he will travel with us and give us as much as he can.”
Despite being unveiled as Chris Wilson’s successor more than a week ago, Welch is still waiting to preside over his first match having seen last weekend’s clash with Swanage Town & Herston postponed.
The United manager added: “Westland’s home match with Portland was off last weekend so there’s a big doubt surrounding tomorrow with the weather being like it has.
“However, we will prepare as though it’s going to be on. They are a good footballing side but hopefully we will go there and give a good account of ourselves.”
