IAN Hutchinson has described full-back Scott Dixon’s decision to deceive him about a recent “jolly boys' outing” in Ibiza as “disrespectful” and “totally stupid.”

The ex-Portland United defender told the Weymouth boss he was unavailable for the recent midweek clash against Salisbury City, only to jet off to the White Isle with a group of friends, which included another Terras’ prospect, Lewis Ironside.

Dixon’s deceit quickly came to light through talk in the town and the power of social network site Facebook, and Hutchinson has taken swift action by relegating the AWOL star to the reserve ranks for the foreseeable future.

The infuriated manager told Echosport: “Scott has been totally stupid, dishonest in certain res-pects and disrespectful to his fellow team-mates.

“While the rest of the lads were slogging their guts out at Salisbury, he was in a bar with a bottle of beer in his hand, which is totally unacceptable.

“It is an unwritten rule in football, whether you play in the Premier League or the Sunday Pub’s League, that you do not go on a jolly boys’ outing during the season. I have been to Ibiza myself and it has some great scenery, particularly at night, but Scott did not tell me he was going, he just said he was unavailable.

“When he returned he held his hands up and knew he had done wrong but how he ever thought he would get away with it I do not know.

“Lewis went with him and both of them know they have done their first-team chances no favours at all.

“Scott is a decent lad and we have never had problems with him before but our job at the moment is hard enough as it is without having to deal with stupidity like that.”

The Terras, who lost 4-1 against Bashley on Monday, travel to Leam-ington tomorrow in the Zamaretto Premier Division (3pm).

And with Dixon demoted and Simon Radcliffe injured, Hutchinson has very few options available to him down the left side, although he is still holding out hope that ex-player-manager Matty Hale might come back on board.

Hutchinson added: “We are still hoping to get some bodies in for tomorrow but whether anything will materialise only time will tell.

“We currently only have three fit left-sided players at the club and one of them is me and I really do not want to play myself. I am still hoping that Matty will return but we shall just have to wait and see.”

Sam Clarke (foot) and Sam Char-les (head) are both doubts for the clash at the New Windmill Ground, and Matt Oldring is still suspended.

However, Jules Emati-Emati is back after suffering food poisoning and Ashley Weeks will come in and provide cover on the bench for keeper Tom Manley while Nick Carroll drops into the reserves.
